Category & Product Trends

Welcome to the Trends Explorer. Housed under the dashboard’s Explorer tab, this analytics suite provides a data-driven view of consumer interest across your digital storefront.

By tracking customer interactions, these tools convert high-volume behavioral metrics into highly visible, actionable business intelligence.

The Core Performance Pillars

To optimize your catalog layout and inventory allocation, the Explorer tracks performance across two primary dimensions:

1. Visual Impressions

Understand visual real estate value. Impressions measure exactly how many times a category banner or individual product listing successfully entered a customer’s viewport.

2. Physical Volume

Track the velocity of actual item movement. Volume registers the exact count of items interacting with shopping carts and checkout completion, letting you differentiate between products that are “highly browsed” versus those that are “highly bought.”

Explore Trend Sub-Modules

Select a reporting matrix below to dive deeper into your storefront’s transactional data.

Evaluate high-level macro movements across your entire store taxonomy. This view aggregates impressions and sales volumes across broad departments (e.g., Produce, Dairy & Eggs, or Bakery), allowing you to see which macro categories are anchoring your store’s growth. Category Trends Deep-Dive →

Drill down past the department level into granular, SKU-specific performance data. This tool lists every individual item in your catalog alongside its specific conversion rates, clicks, and volume shifts, making it easy to isolate your true “Hero Products.” Product Trends Deep-Dive →

Strategic Applications & Decision Making

Using clear, absolute numerics turns this explorer module into a vital tool for business-related decision-making:

  • Proactive Merchandising: If a specific category shows massive Impressions but low Volume, it means customers want the category but aren’t finding the right products or prices. Use this insight to re-curate the assortment.
  • Predictive Stocking: Isolate sudden velocity spikes in individual product trends early. Spotting a 20% week-over-week volume increase on a specific item allows you to adjust your Inventory Orders before a total shelf depletion occurs.
  • A/B Test Verification: When brand managers update digital assets or layout parameters, use the absolute metrics in the Explorer to verify if the physical engagement volume responded positively to the design shift.
